Stan Ford is an award-winning nature photographer specializing in landscapes and wildlife. He works primarily in the public lands of the American southwest and west.

His formal education led him to complete degrees in Biology (B.S.) and Natural Resources (M.A). His artist style draws upon his knowledge and experience in these fields.

He has earned numerous first place awards in international photography contests and his photographs have been included in multiple shows, exhibitions and publications. During the 2021 Art of Healing show at the New Mexico Cancer Center, he was voted the People’s Choice winner.

His favorite photograph remains his first-ever; taken when he met President Kennedy. The person he credits (or blames) for starting him on his life-long photographic journey is Jimi Hendrix.

Stan was honored in 2016 to be chosen to serve the National Park Service as the “first-ever” Artist-in-Residence at Pecos National Historical Park. He has continued his relationship with the National Park Service since then and currently leads night sky photography workshops at Valles Caldera National Preserve. Additionally, he was the first photographer to be certified New Mexico True by the state.

Photographing nature and documenting his experiences has become his raison d'être.
