Do you feel a certain affinity with a particular animal?
Perhaps you might be moved by the loyalty of your pet or marvel at the beauty of an Arabian horse.
Oh, the diversity of the animal world!
Think about the luminescent creatures in the ocean’s deepest recesses,
the amazing creatures in the crawling insect world,
or the numerous flying birds in the air.
Move on to the fierce tigers or the gracefulness of a gazelle or the sweet face of a tiny kitten.
And let’s not forget snakes and toads, lizards and fish and on and on and on.
How fortunate we are to live among these amazing creatures.
In a work of art create an image which captures for you the essence of the animal you have chosen.
This can be a realistic portrayal or an abstract of the animal’s power, grace, or love.

Do rainy days and Mondays bring you down or lift you up?
Rainy days can evoke a variety of complex feelings.
For some, tears fall like the very raindrops themselves as melancholy sets in.
For others, like photographers and outdoor enthusiasts,
venturing out into the eeriness of mist and fog brings excitement.
The sound of echoing thunder, the smell of damp pine needles and cedar,
and finding the occasional sherbet-colored rainbow are just too irresistible to keep them in.
Yet many artists and homebodies do just that.
They seek refuge in the coziness of their studios and homes, creating and nesting at will.
What do those rainy days bring out in you? We want to know. Where do you go?
What do you do? What comes out of you when it rains?
Artwork submitted can include both realistic and abstract art portraying actual
images of rainy days or the emotions evoked. (2D, 3D, and photography accepted)

Finding One's Own Way
04/11/2020 thru 04/30/2020
Have you ever taken the road less traveled?
Often as we grow in life we are called to do just that as we find our own way apart from the crowd.
This walk can be as lonely as it is exciting.
In finding our own way we even develop an inner compass or frames of reference to guide us on the journey.
As the poet Antonio Machado says, "There is no road. The road makes itself in the walking, step by step!"
Design your own compass? Sketch a hidden pathway? How might you portray this part of life’s journey?

Find your edge. Is it the edge of light, or perhaps a soaring precipice?
Create work with a penetrating, incisive feel, or work which bridges the real and the abstract.
Is the sky really the limit, or is it the edge of another realm?
